Emulab FAQ: Testbed Operations: What are the stages that the delay node goes through after the PXE wait?

Emulab FAQ: Testbed Operations: What are the stages that the delay node goes through after the PXE wait?

They actually are supposed to go through exactly the same stages as the regular nodes - they are sent a packet that tells them to wait up from pxewait. At that point, they contact the bootinfo server on boss, which tells them what to boot. In this case, it's the disk, from the FreeBSD paritition.

It boots the full FreeBSD410 image. The only difference is that it boots a different kernel, one with a higher system clock rate (10KHz instead of 100 Hz), and some firewalling stuff built in.

It should boot the one already on disk.
